it was a great party

It wasn't the most efficient use of my time, but NW's birthday party was really a lot of fun.

I met women from all walks of New Orleans life. A sister/manager of one of NOLA's famous musicians; a state legal clerk in charge of domestic violence protective orders; a nurse who came back and single-handedly started a medical clinic in lower 9th ward; a woman who produced the Wal-Mart video; a tap dancer; an occupational therapist; an organizer for churches; an art therapist. And more. At a great old house with beautiful garden and some awesome strawberry-rum punch.

So, I'm glad I went and had a really good time and learned a lot.
